How To Get Through The Holidays Without My Ex

You Can Make It Through The Holidays

If you are currently involved in a separation, the holidays are going to be tough on you. You might want to do things differently this year to help you get through this very difficult emotional time. Try to spend as little time alone as possible. Keep company of friends and family for support. It always helps when someone is there for you. You may want to minimize the decorations this year. A simple tree with a few trimmings might be best. Don't do it alone. Have your loved ones help.

If you usually do a lot of baking, you may not want to do that this year. You could have a simple assortment of store bought goodies buffet style. Use paper plates. If baking would help distract you and occupy your mind, then bake away my friend. You could also choose to go out this year to eat with a single friend or family member.

You could also volunteer at your local church or places that provide donated Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for unfortunate people. Doing for others is rewarding and it helps to put your focus on something besides your pain. Their are many types of programs each year you could volunteer for. This will help others and help you.

Just remember, this to shall pass....You will get through this.
